Cutler Announces Funding for Area Recreation Projects
January 28, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Peach Bottom) announced that two projects in the 100th District have received funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP).
Bart Township has received a $100,000 grant for the development of a new trailhead to access the Enola Low Grade Trail. The proposed project aims to enhance access to the trail by constructing a new trailhead on Lamparter Road with 20 parking spaces, ADA amenities, pedestrian railing, seating, a connecting path to the main trail and informational signage. Project costs will also include landscaping and erosion controls.
The Southern End Community Association, located in Quarryville, has received a $5,100 grant for handicap accessibility upgrades to the Albright Family Pool. This project will create a paved, handicap-accessible parking area and a paved walkway from the parking lot to the pool area.
“I am pleased to see both of these projects receive funding from GTRP,” said Cutler. “Both projects improve on recreation opportunities for our community, allowing more people to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful nature that God has given us in Solanco.”
Act 13 of 2012 established the Marcellus Legacy Fund and allocates funds to the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open space, parks and beautification projects using the GTRP.
