Biography

Bryan Cutler was elected to represent the 100th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006.  A lifelong resident of the Peach Bottom area and a graduate of Solanco High School, Bryan understands the concerns and priorities of the residents of the 100th District.

Prior to his election to the House, Bryan worked at Lancaster Regional Medical Center as an X-ray technologist, providing direct clinical care to patients, while attending law school.  He gained supervisory experience from his previous position as the manager of Support Services for Lancaster General Hospital, where he oversaw the budgets and daily operations of several sections in the radiology department.

With his extensive background in the health care industry, Cutler has developed legislation and policy to address the accessibility and affordability of health care for every citizen of the Commonwealth.  He is also an outspoken advocate for ALS awareness and research, especially its impact on veterans.  He serves as a legislative appointee to the PA Trauma Systems Foundation and was a member of the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Counsel Review Committee, where he was able to use his healthcare background in conjunction with his legal training.

Bryan understands that small businesses are the backbone of our economy and has worked to diversify the job market of Pennsylvania, including expanding the state’s use of alternative energy sources.  He will continue to make job creation and improving Pennsylvania’s business climate a top priority.

A government watchdog, Bryan has authored several bills that would bring more accountability to state programs like the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and would further enforce Pennsylvania’s lobbyist disclosure law.  He has given constant attention to controlling state spending, encouraging fiscal responsibility and promoting transparency and openness in government, and even reports his own office’s spending on his website.

As a practicing attorney, the spirit and intent of the United States Constitution and the Pennsylvania Constitution are central to Bryan’s law-making ideology.  A proponent of America’s First and Second Amendment rights, Bryan holds the words and ideas of our forefathers in the highest regard.  His legislation to bring the powers and duties of wildlife conservation officers into line with current case law and the Constitution was signed into law as Act 64 of 2010.

Bryan serves on the House Health, Judiciary, Game and Fisheries and Local Government committees.

Bryan’s previous government experience includes serving on the Drumore Township Planning Commission, the Regional Planning Commission and the Emergency Management Team for Drumore Township.

A graduate of Widener Law School, Bryan qualified for Law Review.  He also attended Lebanon Valley College, graduating summa cum laude, and Lancaster General School of Radiology, graduating first in his class and receiving the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award.  His other accolades include the Mallinckrodt Award for Clinical Excellence and a certificate of achievement in Health Care Enterprise Ownership.

Bryan and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, Cheyanne Marie, Caleb Dean and Drew Carolyn.

He is an active member of the Wrightsdale Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

The 100th District includes the townships of Bart, Colerain, Conestoga, Drumore, East Drumore, Eden, Fulton, Leacock, Little Britain, Manor, Martic, Paradise, Providence, Sadsbury, and Strasburg and the boroughs of Christiana, Quarryville, and Strasburg.
